MW3 Multiplayer tips and tricks, helps and hoops

If you want to rank up more quickly than you currently are in MW3 multiplayer, this page by GamingUpgrade is by far the best resource to use.  It's long, but if you plan on prestiging once or more it's pure gold.

Next-Gen Xbox

Some pretty firm info from Engagdet:

Xbox 720, Xbox Loop -- whatever Microsoft ends up calling it, that hot rod of a console looks to be on deck for a late fall 2013 release. According to IGN's sources, this successor to the Redmond gaming throne is purported to pack a GPU based on AMD's 6000 series of chips and will boast silicon circuitry that catapults its performance past Nintendo's upcoming Wii U by 20 percent. If you're looking for a more apples to green X's comparison, this next-gen console's graphical capabilities are also reportedly six times greater than its 360 progenitor. 

I play on a 360, so this is interesting to me.  A lot of people complain that consoles are tons inferior to PCs, and looking at the specs that seems pretty clear to me as well, BUT, I bought MW2 on xbox and on PC in early 2010, and it played much, much better on the console even though I had bought my laptop only a year earlier for 3 times as much as the xbox cost me, so I don't think the comparison is as straightforward as many people say it is.

MW3 DLC Release Schedule

I found this on the CoD forums:

So, there will be 12 MP maps, 6 spec ops missions, and 2 new game modes.  I'm guessing the new game modes are for multiplayer, but since they released Drop Zone already without counting it as part of any DLC the new modes could be something else.

And, Robert Bowling said something about story extensions in his commentary on the DLC (go to 1:40).  That could be the spec ops missions since those are often related to the story (like Milehigh Jack is the opposite of the campaign level Turbulence), but it could be something else.

Wait and see.

Update 2:
What used to be listed as "Game Mode" is now listed as "Classified".
Whatever that means.

Update 3:
May now has a third piece of content listed as "Classified".  So instead of 20 we'll get 21 pieces of content.  More is better.

Update 4:
There will be 24 pieces of content for Elite premium members, as well as at least 2 Face Off maps available for free to everyone.  The sum total of what Elite premium gets is as follows:

- At least 12 normal multiplayer maps
- At least 7 Spec Ops missions
- At least 2 Face Off maps
- At least 2 classified

Official DLC Announcement for MW3

Activision announced the official first month's DLC for MW3.  There's a video on the CoD Youtube channel as well.

Looks like it'll be 2 multiplayer maps, Piazza and Liberation.  Assuming that each month will have the same amount of content as January's DLC, we're looking at the equivalent of 18 MP maps.  My guess is that they'll release MP maps every other month, and something else the rest of the time.  So we'll end up with 10 new MP maps, and the equivalent of 8 MP maps in other stuff.  

One thing that Robert Bowling mentioned in the video, which I haven't seen or heard anywhere else, is that there will be "extensions of the story" as part of the DLC stuff.  He said it right after saying there'd be new spec ops missions, so it's not clear if the new missions are those extensions, or if it'll be new segments added to the actual campaign.

Pricing --- I will be surprised if  January's DLC isn't between $8 and $10.  That's a lot considering both of MW2's map packs had 5 maps each, and were $15.

UPDATE:
It appears that the way this is going to work is that if you're not a premium Elite member you'll get your first DLC in March, but it'll be all of the content up to that point.  So premium members will get it doled out over 9 months, and non-premium members will get it packaged into bundles every 3 months or so.

I'll update my price speculation to between $15 and $20 for the March DLC bundle.
